The Young Democrats of Oak Park is one of the longest continuously chartered Young Democrats chapters in Cook County.  The Young Democrats of Oak Park is open to all Democrats aged 18 through 35.  High school students interested in the Young Democrats should can also be a part of the Young Democrats of Oak Park through our YDOP High School Auxilliary. 

Our Young Democrats chapter has a long history of leadership in Illinois.  From 1993 until 2000 Don Harmon served as President of the Young Democrats of Oak Park.  Harmon stepped down when he was appointed Oak Park Democratic Committeeman.  Following Harmon was Robert Baren, a local Democratic activist, who currently serves as Political Director for the Democratic Party of Oak Park.  In the Spring of 2006 Baren stepped down as President, and Matt Fruth, an Oak Park Library Trustee became President.  Anyone interested in becoming a part of the Young Democrats of Oak Park should contact President Matt Fruth at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .  Make sure to put "Young Democrats" in the subject line of your e-mail.  You can also call (708) 386-0090.

The Young Democrats of Oak Park is chartered with the Young Democrats of Cook County and the Young Democrats of Illinois.  All members of the Young Democrats of Oak Park are welcome to be a party of these organizations.  The Young Democrats of Illinois is chartered with the Democratic Party of Illinois and the Young Democrats of America.
