The Democratic Party of Oak Park is one of the largest progressive Democratic organizations in Cook County.  Made up of members from all walks of life, and from throughout Oak Park and the surrounding region, the Democratic Party of Oak Park is open to anyone who wishes to help elect Democrats and discuss issues important to Democratic voters.

Our elected Democratic Committeeman is State Senator Don Harmon.  Senator Harmon was recently elected to his second term as Committeeman, and has served in the post since August of 2000.  The Democratic Party is the "official" Democratic Party of Oak Park Township.

The Democratic Party of Oak Park has a relatively informal structure, with leaders volunteering their time to our efforts.  Anyone is welcome to be a part of the Democratic Party of Oak Park, and if you are interesteds in joining, or if you want more information fill out a volunteer form.  Over 700 Democrats are a part of our party.  Individuals can donate as much, or as little, time as they wish.

The Democratic Party of Oak Park has two monthly meeting.  Our "Second Saturday" meetings are on the second Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. in the Community Room at Democratic Party of Oak Park headquarters, 1243 Woodbine, Oak Park.  These organizing meetings frequently have special guests, and are used to get our members out in the community.  Our monthly MeetUp is on the fourth Monday of every month at 7 p.m. at the Buzz Cafe, 905 S. Lombard, Oak Park.  The MeetUp is an informal opportunity for members to discuss important issues and concerns.  While the Second Saturday meeting is the official monthly meeting, the monthly MeetUp is more of a freewheeling discussion.
