How to get involved

It's your party!
The Democratic Party of Oak Park encourages you to get involved! DPOP is your organization, and we become stronger as more of our fellow citizens get involved and take part. Remember, democracy is not a spectator sport.

The easiest way to get involved is to attend our monthly "Second Saturday" meeting which occur, appropriately enough, on the second saturday of every month.  These meetings are generally held in the Community Room at Democratic Party of Oak Park Headquarters, 1243 Woodbine, Oak Park.  We start with coffee and refreshments at 9:30 a.m., with the meeting starting promptly at 10 a.m.  Prospective DPOP members are encouraged to attend.

You can choose to get involved at any level, from the simplest, one-time action to as much of a time commitment as you can offer. Here are some possibilities:

  • Volunteer: Please take a look at the options available to you as a volunteer.  Regardless of your level of interest, be sure to sign up for the weekly DPOP e-mail alert newsletter, The Progressive.
  • Attend a DPOP event: Events and meetings are posted on the front page of oakparkdems.org.  See photos of past Democratic Party of Oak Park events.
  • Contact us if you have questions or if you'd like more information about how you can get involved.
